Andrea Allen
Andrea Allen describes herself as a development practitioner, social science researcher, educator, and science writer. Her work facilitates socially inclusive approaches to economic development – based on gender, ethnicity, socio-economic status, youth/age -- in project designs, implementation plans, and evaluation approaches, with an emphasis on food systems development. Serving as Associate Professor at MSU, she has collaborated with multiple units across campus -- in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, the College of Social Science, and the Office of International Studies & Programs -- working on teams of social and natural scientists, often translating their work to a wider audience and navigating the intersection of science and the humanities in the process.
