I am  a Senior Agricultural and Rural Development Economist who worked for more than 25 years for various national, regional, and international academic, research and development institutes/organizations in Natural Resources and Environmental Economics, food security and poverty alleviation and in planning, monitoring and evaluation of agricultural and rural development projects, and supported fund raising for some of these functions. 

Core Competences:

  • Leadership of development programs and management of   development departments   at development agencies, and federal ministerial offices and universities.
  • Coordination and liaising with development partners at international and regional level and ability to work harmoniously with   teams of different cultural backgrounds and to create a friendly working environment.
  • Development and Investment project identification, design, and analysis.
  • Design and management of statistics and field surveys and rich experience in the use of standard software statistical packages and spreadsheets including SPSS and Excel. 
  • Extensive research experience in climate change and its related disasters impact including drought, flood, climate smart agricultural, plausibility and sustainability of farming system, food security, poverty, Livelihood, and gender analysis in Sudan and some countries in the Arab region including Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
  • Value chain analysis of various agricultural commodities in the Sudan including groundnuts, sesame, sheep, camel, and Gum Arabic and organizing training functions for senior employees at  Ministries of Agriculture in Arab region and at the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA).
