Pesticides: Safety, Efficacy and Access

Event Information
In the wake of fall armyworm's devastating effects on African agriculture, farmers are turning to pesticides as a means to combat the pest. Unfortunately, pesticides are not always well targeted or properly handled.
This webinar will focus on the use of pesticides in Africa and the challenges for safe and effective usage. Dr. Paul Jepson from Oregon State University will draw on his extensive knowledge and experience on educating and equipping farmers in Africa on pesticide use among other agricultural practices. This webinar will also highlight a program available to USAID Missions and African governments for training trainers to disseminate these important messages to farmers.
