New Indicators: Gender {Feed the Future MEL Webinar Series}
Event Information
The webinar recording is now available, and a transcript will be posted soon.
In October 2017, a revised set of Feed the Future indicators was announced, in alignment with the Feed the Future results framework and the USG Global Food Security Strategy. In March 2018, Feed the Future's MEL Division published the updated Feed the Future Indicator Handbook, which contains definitions of each of these indicators, plus instructions for use. These indicators are intended for use beginning in the 2018-19 fiscal year.
At this webinar, we will be discussing the three Feed the Future gender-specific indicators. We will cover the major changes in the Women’s Empowerment in Agriculture Index (WEAI), review the six indicators that make up the new Abbreviated WEAI (A-WEAI), and the context indicator derived from the A-WEAI. We will also review the GNDR-2 indicator. Examples and interactive exercises will help get you thinking about how to collect and report on data for these indicators.
-
EG.3-f - Abbreviated Women's Empowerment in Agriculture Index [ZOI-level]
-
CONTEXT-25 - Average percentage of women achieving adequacy across the six indicators of the Abbreviated Women’s Empowerment in Agriculture Index [ZOI-level]
-
GNDR-2 - Percentage of female participants in USG-assisted programs designed to increase access to productive economic resources [IM-level]
To get the most out of this webinar, please review the Indicator Reference Sheets for the three indicators above. Please also review the Feed the Future indicators referenced in the GNDR-2 Indicator Reference Sheet, which are:
-
EG.4.2-7 - Number of individuals participating in group-based savings, micro-finance or lending programs with USG assistance [IM-level]
-
EG.10.4-7 - Number of adults with legally recognized and documented tenure rights to land or marine areas, as a result of USG assistance [IM-level]
-
EG.3.2-27 - Value of agriculture-related financing accessed as a result of USG assistance [IM-level]
Please join us to discuss these indicators and bring your questions!
