Ugo Pica-Ciamarra

Italy Livestock Economist, ASL2050 Global Coordinator Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)

Ugo Pica-Ciamarra is an agricultural economist with experience in evidence-based policy and planning in the livestock sector in Africa and Asia. He is currently the Global Coordinator of the Africa Sustainable Livestock 2050 Initiative (ASL2050) of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, based in Rome, Italy. He has over 15 years of work experience in Eastern, Western, Southern and Northern Africa as well as in South Asia. Ugo holds a PhD in Institutional and Development Economics from the University of ‘”Roma III”, Italy, and an MSs in Agricultural Economics from the University of Manchester, UK.
