Thai Van Nguyen

Mr. Thai Van Nguyen is a researcher and lecturer at the Climate Change Institute (CCI) at An Giang University - Vietnam National University of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Mr. Thai graduated with his BSc in Integrated Rural Development at An Giang University in 2009 and his MSc in International Development Studies at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University, Australia in 2016 under an Australian Awards Scholarship from the Australian government. Currently, Mr. Thai is a PhD Candidate in Human Geography at the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences at the University of New England, Australia under the International Postgraduate Research Awards (2022–2026). Mr. Thai’s research and projects mainly focus on gender and water resource management, rural livelihoods, agro-ecology, flood disasters, and community resilience to climate change in the Vietnamese Mekong Delta. Mr. Thai has led and participated in several studies during his work at the CCI of An Giang University. Mr. Thai has been extensively involved in leading research projects on gender, the environment, and society. Mr. Thai is currently a leader in the projects on gender and water management in rural areas of the Vietnamese Mekong Delta, funded by SEARCA/SFRT, the Australian Government, the Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research, UNESCO Bangkok-Asia Indigenous Peoples Pact (AIPP), LIN Center for Community Development, and the Government of Ireland (Irish Aid).
