Joshua Templeton

United States Digital Development Executive Fellow USAID

Joshua Templeton is currently the USAID Resilience, Environment and Food Security (REFS) Digital Development Executive Fellow.  His previous foreign service assignments include Economic Development Office Director in the Kyrgyz Republic, Deputy Director of Infrastructure at USAID/Afghanistan, Senior Regional Economist for Asia, USAID representative to Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), and Mission Economist for USAID/Peru. In previous government positions (the EPA’s National Risk Management Research Laboratory and the DOT’s Volpe National Transportation Systems Center), Joshua designed reverse auctions to improve water quality and evaluated transportation bottlenecks for the US-China Strategic Economic Dialogue. Joshua has worked for an economics consulting firm, published articles in peer-reviewed journals, presented at international conferences, and taught university courses in economic development, industrial organization and economic geography. He completed his Ph.D. in Natural Resource Economics at The Ohio State University and a post-doctoral fellowship with the National Academies of Sciences.
