Nika Larian

United States Food Loss and Waste Advisor USAID

Dr. Nika Larian is a Food Loss and Waste Advisor in the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Bureau for Resilience and Food Security (RFS) Center for Nutrition. Dr. Larian is the Co-Chair of the Food Safety Technical Working Group of the Global Nutrition Coordination Plan (GNCP) and the Activity Manager for the Feed the Future food safety program EatSafe. She produces the USAID Kitchen Sink Food Loss and Waste Podcast. Previously, Dr. Larian was a AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellow in the USAID Food Safety Division. She earned her Ph.D. in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Kentucky, where she studied wasting during sepsis and the effect of environmental pollutants on human health.
