Mark Mitchell is the Director of Livestock & Dairy at Land O’Lakes Venture37.  His responsibilities include program design during new business activities, program management over the life of the project and outreach to promote the impacts of livestock and dairy programs.  Within the livestock value chain, Mark works with genetics, feed and forages, agribusiness and inputs, training programs for veterinarians and community animal health workers (CAHW), value-added processing and food safety, sanitary and phytosanitary standards and trade, and behavior change associated with animal source foods (ASF).  A market systems approach is the basis of Mark’s livestock program designs and management in order to incorporate financial needs and access to markets.

His career now spans over 30 years with work in over 20 countries, where he has taken long-term assignments in Ecuador, Russia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Uganda, Zimbabwe.  Country experience also includes most of Eastern and Central Africa, West Africa, North Africa, former soviet states, Pakistan, Philippines, and Sri Lanka.
