I am a participatory modeler--I work with communities and decision-makers to build quantitative simulation models so that they can figure out how to 'nudge the system' towards sustainability. I focus primarily on food security, agriculture, and climate change in West Africa and in urban areas in the United States. However, the methods I use are very flexible and I've also applied them to problems related to human health, water, human migration, and forest conservation.
