Jim Gaffney
Jim has been involved in agriculture his entire life, having grown up on a corn-soy-hog farm in southwest Minnesota. He is also a product of the land-grant university system: the University of Minnesota, South Dakota State University (Harvard of the Plains), and the University of Florida were his institutions of choice for a bachelors, masters, and PhD, respectively. Jim’s passion for African agriculture was formed during his time as a Peace Corps volunteer in Cameroon. Prior to joining USAID, Jim’s career had been in the crop protection and seed industry in the private sector, most recently with Corteva Agriscience.
