Amy is a second-year ORISE Research Fellow working at EPA Headquarters in Washington, DC. She has several years of food waste and composting experience, and enjoys discussing the wicked problem of food waste with unsuspecting friends and family members. Previously, Amy worked as an Extension Educator for the University of Illinois, has helped a large food distribution company enact sustainable measures in their office, taught classes about food waste at the university level, and worked for a local compost bucket swap service. She can also be found conducting the monthly meeting of the Illinois Food Scrap & Composting Coalition. When she is not actively saving fries off of colleague's plates, she enjoys biking, visiting community gardens, and sampling the finest local lagers she can find.
