Abby Anderson serves as the Communications Specialist for the Cooperative Development Program (CDP), developing and executing the program’s communications and knowledge management strategy. Prior to joining USAID in 2023, Abby managed communications and programming for the Environmental Change and Security Program at the Wilson Center, a foreign affairs think tank. Abby has over four years of experience in communication, environmental issues, and sustainable development, ranging from the Office of U.S. Senator Tim Kaine to the United Nations Global Compact. Additionally, she recently co-authored a forthcoming UNCTAD publication on the potential of seaweed to advance environmental and gender dimensions of the SDGs. She's passionate about using communication as a tool to empower local and marginalized communities, along with building a more sustainable and inclusive food system. Abby earned her M.A. in International Affairs from George Washington University. She holds a B.A. in Political Science with minors in Media studies and Italian studies from Virginia Commonwealth University.
