Ten-Year Testimonials: Meredith Soule
As part of the Agrilinks 10-year anniversary, we are celebrating with testimonials from some of our top users. Read on to hear from Meredith Soule, a Bureau of Resilience and Food Security (RFS) Inclusive Development Division chief with USAID. The following is a transcript of a 10-year anniversary video series. The full video can be played at the bottom of the page.
Hi, my name is Meredith Soule. I have been working in food security and agriculture development for almost 40 years and I have been engaged with Agrilinks since it launched, 10 years ago.
I love Agrilinks because it is such a large, diverse and global community. Every time I read a blog or attend a webinar, I learn something new that I can integrate into my work.
We are at an exciting crossroads in development, and Agrilinks is leading the way.
The movement for locally-led development is gaining momentum, and Agrilinks connects us to local leaders and practitioners to help us better understand their needs and plans, so we can support them.
The imperative for the full integration of women, youth and any marginalized groups into development is abundantly clear, and Agrilinks-sponsored months on youth, gender and inclusive development have allowed the Feed the Future global community to share what they are doing and learning on inclusion.
And digital is bringing a new world of information, finance and connection that we can harness to meet our joint goals for inclusive agriculture-led growth, improved nutrition and poverty reduction, all amongst the new challenges of climate change and COVID.
My one word to describe Agrilinks is community, and it’s my community.
Happy 10-year anniversary, Agrilinks!
