Webinar: Announcing the Global Agriculture Innovation Forum (GAIF)

The Food Safety Network is proud to promote the Global Agricultural Innovation Forum, a partnership between USDA's Foreign Agricultural Service and Purdue University. The Forum will consist of a series of virtual events held throughout 2021 that will provide opportunities for dialogue and dissemination of ideas at the leading edge of agricultural innovation.
The first main event titled Farms and Farmers of the Future is scheduled for March 2, 2021 from 9:00-10:30 AM ET. Participation is FREE, but registration is required.

About the Global Agricultural Innovation Forum:
The Global Agricultura Innovation Forum is a joint undertaking between USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service and Purdue University’s Office of International Programs in Agriculture. The Forum will be valuable to entrepreneurs, producers, value-chain operators, service providers, and researchers, as well as donor agencies and implementing partners and will consist of a series of virtual events held throughout 2021.
Speakers
Dr. John Dixon

Moderator
Adjunct Professor at the University of Queensland. He has more than four decades of experience with agricultural research and sustainable development with FAO, the CGIAR, ACIAR Australia and several Universities in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America.
Dr. Rajendra Paroda

Dr. Rajendra Paroda is the former Director General of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and Secretary, Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), Government of India.
Dr. Dennis Garrity

Dr. Dennis Garrity is a Systems Agronomist and research leader whose career has focused on improving small-scale farming systems in the tropics. He has been serving as Drylands Ambassador for the UN Convention to Combat Desertification, emphasizing the role of agroforestry, evergreen agriculture and landcare for sustainable land management. From 2001 to 2011, he served as Director General of the World Agroforestry Centre. He is currently Chair of the Board of the Global EverGreening Alliance and also chairs Landcare International, a worldwide effort to support grassroots community-based natural resource management.
Dr. Louise Fox

Dr. Louise Fox is a Senior Fellow in the Africa Growth Initiative (AGI), Brookings Institution, and formerly chief economist at USAID, visiting professor of development economic policy at the University of California, Berkeley, and various positions at the World Bank
