USAID Feed the Future's Advancing Women's Empowerment (AWE) Program and DAI Presents GBV in Agriculture for 16 Days of Activism
Event Information
JOIN us December 8 at 9:30am EST for a virtual and in person event to discuss how gender-based violence affects agriculture and market systems initiatives with colleagues from around the global development industry.
The discussion—which supports the Global 16 Days Campaign against Gender-Based Violence—is sponsored by the Feed the Future USAID Advancing Women's Empowerment (AWE) Program and DAI.
The AWE consortium, led by EnCompass LLC, enhances women’s empowerment and gender equality in agricultural systems and programs by providing technical assistance to Missions, implementing partners, the Bureau for Resilience and Food Security, and USAID offices to increase women’s participation, productivity, profit, and benefit in agricultural systems. Core partners are ACDI/VOCA, an inclusive agricultural and market systems development organization, and MarketShare Associates, a firm practicing, creating, implementing, and measuring economic development programming.
Featured in the discussion will be the AWE Toolkit to Address Gender-Based Violence in Agriculture and Market Systems Development that supports efforts to achieve economic growth goals while empowering women and families. DAI has had the opportunity to collaborate directly with AWE on the Feed the Future USAID Uganda Inclusive Agricultural Markets project, which piloted the toolkit.
You can join us in person at DAI (7600 Wisconsin Avenue, Suite 200, Bethesda, MD 20814) or call in to join the event via Zoom.
