A Tool for Prioritizing Climate-Smart Agriculture Investments

Event Date: Jun 16, 2016

Time: 09:30 AM to 11:00 AM (GMT -4)

Location: United States

Online: Online Event

Information

Climate-smart agriculture is on the agenda of many development practitioners in the agriculture/food security community, but it is often misunderstood. Investing in climate-smart agriculture isn't a one-size-fits-all approach, and closely-held (but poorly-examined) assumptions often set the tone for a multitude of bad practices.

Join Agrilinks on July 16 for a discussion about how practitioners should approach climate-smart agriculture investments, including ways to incorporate productivity, mitigation and adaptation at multiple scales.

In addition, presenters will address how the Participatory Systems Dynamics Model can be used to test assumptions and determine priorities for Mission investments. Expanding from a session at the March 2016 Zambia Climate-Smart Agriculture GLEE, this webinar will conclude with a description of how the USAID/Zambia Mission used the results of the model to prioritize investments.

Registration is now open.

Event learning objectives:

1.       Reinforce the concept that CSA is an approach and not a list of practices
2.       Describe the Participatory System Dynamics Model
3.       Learn how the Zambia Mission applied the model’s results to prioritize investments

Thanks for the great webinar. The Participatory System Dynamics Modeling seems to be a useful tool. To whom in particular should we address to understand how can we pilot it at one of our projects on CSA?
