Consultation on Leveraging Resources for USAID Nutrition Strategy
Event Information
USAID is in the process of developing a comprehensive Nutrition Strategy, in recognition of the essential role that nutrition plays in individuals’ and countries’ development. The design of a USAID Nutrition Strategy is a benchmark towards the development of a broader U.S. Government Nutrition Strategy which is now in process. The U.S. Government is committed to working towards the World Health Assembly's 2025 targets for improved maternal, infant, and young child nutrition, as well as the overarching goals in the Global Nutrition for Growth Compact.
A technical working group, comprised of individuals across USAID, developed a draft strategy and solicited public comment through mid-January 2014.
USAID will host a second consultation on leveraging resources for the USAID Nutrition Strategy. The purpose of this consutation is to strategize how to leverage the investments and assets both within USAID and of our partners--particularly our partner countries, other donors, the private sector and civil society organizations--and the role of these partners in achieving the goal of the USAID nutrition strategy targets and goals. This will be an open discussion.
Please RSVP for this event through this page no later than Wednesday, April 2. For any questions, please contact Ahmed Kablan at [email protected].
