Join FAO North America and the Embassy of Denmark in the USA to learn about potential impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on efforts to manage and prevent the spread of antimicrobial resistance (AMR).

Antimicrobials are essential for treating and preventing infections in humans, animals and plants, and for enabling fundamental and life-saving medical interventions. However, their misuse or overuse can lead to their failure as microbes develop resistance to them. The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic underscores the critical importance of combating AMR and how effectively addressing its rising threat requires an integrated, multi-sectoral (One Health and food chain) approach.
