Intro to the MEL System {Feed the Future MEL Webinar Series}

The USAID Bureau for Food Security's Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Division invites you to the first event in our Feed the Future MEL Webinar Series. This webinar series is designed to inform and engage Feed the Future stakeholders (especially USAID Mission staff and implementing partners) around various aspects of Feed the Future's MEL system. See the series landing page for the expected webinar lineup over the course of 2018.
Intro to the MEL System
This webinar will provide a rundown of the key elements of the revised Feed the Future Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) system. You will learn:
- The purposes of the MEL system
- How the Feed the Future MEL system has changed to align with the U.S. Government's Global Food Security Strategy and reflect lessons learned
- The main components of the MEL system (see graphic below)

Jessica Cagley

Acting Division Chief for Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning
USAID Bureau for Food Security
Jessica is the acting lead for the Office of Strategic Planning and Performance Management's Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Division within the USAID Bureau for Food Security. The division is responsible for designing and implementing the MEL framework for Feed the Future, the U.S. government's global hunger and food security initiative.
Julie MacCartee

Knowledge Management and Learning Specialist
USAID Bureau for Food Security
Julie supports knowledge sharing and organizational learning to improve the outcomes of global food security programs. She regularly facilitates webinars, online discussions, after-action reviews, peer assists, and other events/processes, and trains USAID staff on how to use these tools to capture and share information. She oversees Feed the Future's Agrilinks platform, a community for agricultural development practitioners.
