Accelerating the End of Hunger and Malnutrition: A Global Event
Event Information
IFPRI, including IFPRI-ReSAKSS, together with FAO, will organize a global conference on Accelerating the End of Hunger and Malnutrition on November 29-30, 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand.
Compact2025, the IFPRI-led global initiative to end hunger and undernutrition by 2025, and the UN’s Decade of Action on Nutrition will join forces to convene stakeholders from the public and private sectors to share evidence and lessons learned from around the world on food system transformation for reducing hunger and malnutrition – in all its forms; explore innovations that can disrupt business-as-usual to build further momentum and accelerate progress; and identify opportunities for scaling up action. Please check out the conference website for more information. This site will be continually updated, so please check back periodically for more details. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Teunis van Rheenen, Head of Partnerships and Business Development.
Event outputs and outcomes: This global event will base its agenda on a number of solid evidence-based reports assessing different pathways to accelerate progress. The event will produce many outputs, including a book, and information tools such as videos and slide decks. It is foreseen to summarize the results of the conference in a brief called “The Bangkok Accelerators” that describes the key lessons learned and actions needed to speed up the end of hunger and malnutrition. The event will also build toward the creation of a network for crosssectoral dialogue, information sharing, coordination, advocacy, and action, both at the global and country levels.
